Adaptable Recruitment are exclusively partnering with a growing business in Widnes who is looking to recruit an experienced Finance Assistant to join their team.

Salary and benefits
£27,000 - £32,000 Depending on experience.
Monday - Thursday 8.00am-5pm
Friday 8.00am-4pm
Full-time - Permanent
25 days holidays + bank holidays
Christmas shutdown
Free parking on site

Job duties and responsibilities

  • Generate and send out invoices
  • Review new customer account applications and credit limit requests, perform KYC checks. Ensure correct internal approval for limit in place.
  • Collection of cash and allocation of payments.
  • Release orders.
  • Regular review of ledger, chase overdue amounts and initiate further action as required.
  • Liaise and business partner with relevant stakeholders and other functions.
  • Reconcile the ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
  • Maintain customer files and records

Other duties to include but not limited to

  • Posting bank payments and receipts
  • Assisting with accounts payable
    • Entering invoices into the purchase ledger, matching to PO where relevant
    • Processing employee expenses
    • Bank/Supplier reconciliation
  • Assist with month end process, including accruals & prepayments
  • Statutory declarations
  • General finance duties
  • Ensuring all transactions are in line with the companies' Group accounting manual

Key skills and experience

  • Previous experience working within Finance department
  • Working experience of Business Central and Netsuite preferred
  • Ability to work on your own initiative
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Working as part of a team to reach strict deadlines

Qualifications and attributes

  • Currently studying AAT or equivalent.
  • Good technical knowledge
  • IT literate. Proficient with Microsoft products.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with people from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines.
  • Confident communicator with ability to ask the right questions and challenge the status quo where appropriate.
  • Fast worker, enthusiastic and ability to make things happen.
  • Able to prioritize workload effectively and work under pressure.
  • Capable of interpreting customers' needs where appropriate.
  • Willingness to undertake training to improve capability in role.
